CCD RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The education of the children K-5th grade is so very important to our parish community. Religious Education, or RE is the program that meets from Mid September through the first week in May. The Wednesday after school program runs from 3:30 until 5:00. To enroll your child in the RE classes, or to have your questions answered, you may contact our K-5th Grade director Sharon Kauth. Call her at the parish number (970) 586-8111 and leave a message, or you may send her an email at Sakaut@cs.com.
OLM RCIA & ADULT EDUCATION
Each fall, depending upon the needs of adults, Our Lady of the Mountains parish offers a program of education and faith formation. If a sufficient number of people are interested in learning more, or are interested in joining the Catholic faith, the parish offers a once-a-week program on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 till 9:00pm. In the absence of enough people to hold a formal program, we try to offer various adult faith classes on topics ranging from The Eucharist, to the Sacraments, Church History and Reconciliation.
The ‘formal’ program of entry into the Catholic Church for adults is called RCIA. These letters stand for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. This is a easy-to-follow program that has been approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. It features a variety of teaching and learning formats. The agenda allows people of no faith, or people from other faiths an opportunity to study and learn more about the Church and its practices. For those who decide to do so, entry into the Church happens at the following Easter Vigil. Quite often, people who are already Catholics take the RCIA program to review the fundamentals of our faith practice and journey.
Call Father Gregory at the parish office, or send him and email (cioch@hotmail) if you are interested in learning more.
