Weddings at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel - St. Malo
The St. Catherine of Siena Chapel [St Malo] is a beautiful chapel, well known for its beauty and its setting. Each year, hundreds of visitors stop to admire it, take pictures, and – hopefully – to pray. Though a frequent ‘stop’ for visitors, the chapel is a Catholic ‘house of worship’ and should be considered and maintained as such.
Located in Allenspark, Colorado the small chapel is not a ‘parish’ church, but is administered by Our Lady of the Mountains, in Estes Park, and falls under its canonical jurisdiction. Marriages celebrated at St. Catherine of Sienna follow the sacramental policies and record keeping guidelines for the Archdiocese of Denver. Therefore, use of the chapel is scheduled through, and is at the discretion of the pastor of Our Lady of the Mountains.

Because St. Malo is a Catholic facility and is frequently used for Catholic weddings, there are specific guidelines for celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage at the St. Catherine of Sienna chapel. Wedding Planning Checklist
One month before wedding date
The couple must complete the marriage preparation program in the parish in which they reside and receive permission of their pastor to be married outside their parish. Visit Marriage Preparation Process for more information.
If the couple comes from another parish in the Archdiocese of Denver, the complete paperwork can be sent directly from your parish to our parish.
If the parish at which the couple prepares for marriage is outside the Archdiocese of Denver, a priest or deacon needs to send the complete paperwork to their local Chancellery, and they will forward it to our Chancellery. Our Chancellery then will send the paperwork to our parish. This process guarantees that requirements of the Diocesan Churches are fulfilled and we have all necessary paperwork. We need these documents well in advance and not on the day of the wedding. Without proper paperwork, you cannot use the church for your wedding.
Your wedding time and date will be secured only after we receive the $1,000 fee in the form of check or money order payable to Our Lady of the Mountains. In the event of cancellation, a $250 administrative fee with be applied with the remaining $750 returned to the applicant.
